MTR Rasam Powder — Authentic South Indian Rasam Spice Mix

MTR Rasam Powder is the secret to making restaurant-quality South Indian rasam at home — a perfectly balanced blend of roasted spices that delivers the authentic, peppery, tangy flavor of traditional South Indian rasam in minutes. From Bangalore's most trusted food brand since 1924, MTR's Rasam Powder is the spice mix that South Indian-American families rely on for their daily rasam, pepper water, and digestive soups.

Why MTR Rasam Powder?

Authentic Bangalore Recipe: Crafted using MTR's original recipe perfected over 100 years — the same bold, peppery rasam flavor that has made MTR a household name across South India. Perfect Spice Balance: A carefully calibrated blend of black pepper, cumin, coriander, red chili, curry leaves, and other spices for the authentic rasam flavor profile. Restaurant-Quality Results: Delivers the complex, layered flavor of a slow-cooked rasam in a fraction of the time. Digestive & Therapeutic: Rasam is Ayurveda's most beloved digestive soup — the black pepper and cumin in MTR Rasam Powder aid digestion, relieve cold symptoms, and warm the body. No Artificial Colors or Preservatives: Made with real spices and no artificial additives. Trusted MTR Quality: From South India's most trusted food brand with 100 years of culinary heritage.

How to Make Rasam

In a pot, combine tamarind extract, tomatoes, and water. Bring to a boil. Add 1–2 teaspoons of MTR Rasam Powder, salt, and cooked toor dal (optional). Simmer for 5–10 minutes. Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chili in ghee. Garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot as a soup, with rice, or as a digestive drink after meals.
